How does the Humbra Mobile System do in the wind?
Our canopy has two wind vents on opposing sides to counteract and alleviate wind stresses for winds up to 10 mph. We suggest that you use your best judgment given the environment you are in. If exceeding winds are prevalent, simply crank the canopy down into the closed position to prevent damage.
What is the warranty?
Our hitch comes with a limited lifetime warranty. We guarantee that it will be free of any manufacturing defects and it will not crack, bend or break as long as it is used for its intended purpose.
Our massive 15’ x 9’ canopy comes with a 30-day manufacturer’s warranty. That being said, we’ve personally never had one break. If in high usage, we recommend that you check bolt connections periodically and simply tighten accordingly. As long as you take care of it (i.e. never place anything heavy atop of it while in transit or when stowing it, follow included instructions and be aware of wind limitations) it will last through extended use.
Will it fit a tall van?
Our system is currently optimized for trucks and SUVs. The height of a tall van such as a Sprinter, is incompatible with our product, unfortunately. Although it will work on conventional vans if you open the canopy first and then install the umbrella into the hitch.
What is your return policy?
We welcome you to test our system for 21 days. If you are at all displeased, simply return the system free of defects and we will reimburse your purchase.
Does it rotate?
Yes, our canopy rotates 360 degrees and can easily be fixed at any position within that range.
Does it provide rain protection?
Although we can’t say our umbrella is 100% waterproof, our 100% polyester fabric is extremely water resistant and will keep you dry in light to moderate rain.
How much does it weigh?
Our canopy weighs 26lbs – a standard 10’ x 10’ pop-up weighs around 45lbs. The Humbra hitch weighs 14lbs, for a system total of only 40lbs.
Is the height adjustable?
No, the height is fixed at 96” from the bottom of the hitch to the top of the canopy and is not adjustable with our current model.
What vehicles do I need an extension for?
You will not need an extension for nearly every type of pickup and most SUVs. The distance from the hitch pin to the leading edge of the shaft is 24.” Please measure accordingly to determine if your vehicle requires an extension. SUVs with larger hatchbacks, such as a Suburban or 4-runner will require a 7” extension for full articulation of the rear cargo door. Horizontal swing gates, such as a Jeep Wrangler, require a 12” extension and larger vehicles with horizontal swing gates, such as the new Ford Bronco, require a 18” extension for full clearance.
Do you do custom printing on canopy?
No, unfortunately the current lead time (with the pandemic) does not allow us to offer custom printing of the canopy. Although we fully intend to make this an option by summer 2022.
Where is the system shipped from?
The umbrella is shipped UPS ground from our supplier in LA and the Humbra hitch is shipped from our warehouse in Portland, OR. The system is most often delivered within 0 – 1 days of each other. We realize this is not an ideal shipping scenario, but we plan to remedy this in the near future, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Where is the system manufactured?
Our hitches are handmade and manufactured in Portland, OR. Our umbrellas are manufactured overseas in the umbrella capital of the world in Zhejiang, China.
Do you sell the umbrella and hitch separately?
No, we do not sell the system separately. Although if you need a replacement (after purchasing the Humbra system) we can accommodate you.
